Keep in mind that it is not possible to catch the wild animals that roam in you village. Even though you can trap them, they will most likely not stay in the same place after leaving and reentering the village.

When you place animals in your village, a placeholder block is put in the location you tap. You can remove that placeholder block to remove the animal, and place it again to put the lost animal again.
